Dr. Gina Giancola

Dr. Gina Giancola known as "Dr. G" or Dr. Gina by her patients, grew up in Cedar Grove, New Jersey and has been a successful chiropractor there for almost ten years. Dr. G earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Public/Community Health from Montclair State University in 1993. She then continued her education at Life University in Marietta, Georgia where she received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in March 1997.

Dr. Giancola's practice includes chiropractic care for adults, seniors, children, families, athletes, and expectant mothers. In addition to her private practice, Dr. G works closely with the athletic training staff at Montclair State University and Cedar Grove High School treating injured athletes and coaches. She also collaborates with several medical doctors in the area and has recently joined the staff of the New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey League where she serves as the league's chiropractor. Dr. Giancola has also in the past been called in by the NJ Jackals semi-pro baseball team to help with an injured athlete.

On a personal note, Dr. Giancola was an athlete and participated in softball and gymnastics, was a cheerleader, as well as a competitive dancer. She became interested in the medical/health field after she sustained an injury to her left knee that would require her to undergo reconstructive surgery and many many months of rehabilitative therapy. A year later, Dr. Gina got a job working for a local Chiropractor who became her mentor. What interested Dr. G about chiropractic care was:

  • How it helped the body heal naturally without the use of drugs.
  • How chiropractic took into consideration the body as a whole and not just treat or mask the symptoms the patient experienced, but to treat the underlying cause of the patient's symptoms.
  • How so many people used Chiropractic to keep themselves healthy and well. PREVENTATIVE CARE...a new concept for her that as an injured athlete, made so much sense.

She has been under chiropractic care since the age of 16.

Continuing education is a priority for Dr. Giancola. She attends seminars and work shops to keep up to date with the latest information on adjusting techniques, therapies, and nutrition. This way, her patients and athletes receive the most effective care possible for their specific problems.

Dr. Giancola is also a medical coding specialist. She holds a CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certificate which she obtained through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) in July 2007. Dr. "G" maintains this certification by obtaining 36 CEU's (Continuing Education Units) every 2 years.

Always an active supporter of the Cedar Grove Public Schools, Dr. Giancola has presented a variety of lectures and interactive lessons teaching students and teachers about appropriate posture, backpack safety, and activities they can do to maintain a healthy spine. She also sponsors the Cedar Grove High School Cheerleaders annual t-shirt sale, Project Graduation, the high school yearbook, and various other fundraising activities conducted by the parent associations for all of the schools in the Cedar Grove district.

Chiropractic care has long been recognized as an important function for keeping patients and athletes of all ages and activity levels healthy and at their personal best. Chiropractic will also help the body to heal from injury faster, enhance performance allowing the patient and/or athlete to compete at their optimal performance abilities, and aid in the prevention of future injuries.
